ARRCC's second annual Ride to Worship Week will run from 7-13 October 2011. This is a chance to join with people of all faiths from around Australia by leaving your car at home and cycling, walking, or using another form of environmentally friendly transport to get to and from your religious observances. We encourage you to join in as an individual, family, or whole religious community.
To join in the fun during Ride to Worship Week, all you need to do is to cycle, walk, or use another form of environmentally friendly transport to get and from your religious observances. Do it on the day that you normally attend.
Groups
Why not involve your whole religious community (place of worship, religious centre, small group, faith-based student group etc) in Ride to Worship Week? You can:
Invite others from your community to ride or walk to worship
Encourage those who are unable to ride or walk to participate in other ways, such as lift sharing and catching public transport
Celebrate the event with a lunch or morning tea on the day.
As Ride to Worship Week approaches, ARRCC will be providing registered individuals and groups with the support resources you need to participate. For groups, this includes awareness raising materials like a newsletter announcement and a PowerPoint presentation, along with a media release you can send to your local news outlet to let them know you are participating.
Would you like to see more groups involved? Can you help us to spread the word? We are looking for people to be Ride to Worship Week champions and to recruit one religious community. This could be your own place of worship, religious centre, or faith-based group, or one that you have some connection with. ARRCC will provide you with all the resources that you need.
