Sydney Stop Adani Summit

People of faith will have at least two tables at the Sydney Summit. We hope to get some detailed plan of coming actions, for example for October 7th, the National Day of Action protesting Adani's Carmichael mine.

What: The #StopAdani Summits are gatherings which give us a chance to hear an update on the state of play, from the politics to the finance and more. It's going to be an important and inspiring day of deep diving on the strategy and connecting with each other and different groups. Most of all, the Summit is a chance to plan how we will take action in our communities during the crucial next phase of the campaign to stop this mine once and for all.

The last three months have been huge. Across the nation, people have drawn a line in the sand and gotten active! There have been over 300 film screenings. There are 160 #StopAdani groups. And the pressure on Adani has been relentless.

We’ve seen Westpac buckle and rule out Adani. Politicians from both sides have been pushed to speak out against this coal mine. But if we’re going to win, then we’ll need to come together, focus our efforts, and make the pressure unbearable.

Because Adani is still moving forward. Their application for public money from NAIF is in it’s final stages. If we want to stop this coal mine, then we must stop the loan.

At this Summit, we’re going to come together, learn where the pressure points are, and plan to take the pressure on our Federal MPs to the next level and stop Adani’s loan.

The campaign to stop Adani’s coal mine is our chance to turn the tide of coal in Australia. Already, the last three months have been remarkable. We’re pushing back and it’s working.
