Living Faith featured the following in their newsletter after the event:

"Thank you to all participants in this year's Walk/Ride to Worship event on Sunday, October 6. More than 20 people took part. Also St Mary's Catholic Church in Greensborough and the Eltham Montmorency Uniting Church registered to take part. We were one of around 16 faith communities who took part from Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. Also individuals took part from the Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Sikh faiths.

This was an opportunity for us to remind ourselves and others that we care about God's creation and we tread gently. Participants cycled , walked, took public transport and car pooled.

Transport produces about 13% of the world's and about 14% of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions. Public transport is much more efficient in fuel consumption than private transport. For a safe climate we need to leave around 2/3 of the world's fossil fuel emissions underground according to the International Energy Agency. Using alternatives to private vehicle transport is a good start."
