Black Summer lamentation - virtual performance

Black Summer Lamentation on City Hill: Grief and hope works in four acts

This virtual performance adopts and responds to heartfelt conversations about Black Summer.

Black Summer Lamentation is an experimental public lament in response to conversations with women in the capital region about Black Summer -- what that myth-busting season did to their bodies, their breath, their sense of the future and much more.

The performance uses extracts from those narratives, as well as original art, and live sound and music by Megan Taylor, Nitya Parker and Chrissie Shaw.

Technical support by Paul Yeoh.

Toni Hassan is an emerging social practice artist interested in personal and collective histories, resistance and voice, and the intersections between the sacred and secular.
