Uniting Climate Action Network is briefing those interested in ways to help push NAB to stop funding Whitehaven Coal. 

The next few weeks are crucial in that NAB is set to make a decision by Whitehaven's mid-year deadline for banks to renew finance for Whitehaven's Rotating Loan Facility. Whitehaven is the biggest coal only company in Australia.

Actions include sending emails or phoning NAB executives or other staff, and delivering the one-page summary of Market Forces' report, Banking Climate Failure, and a cover letter to NAB Bank Branches.

NAB paints itself as a climate leader and claims to be committed to the Paris Agreement. But its continued funding of coal makes that claim look hollow. The Market Forces report shines a clear light on the gap between their words and actions. More pressure now could tip the balance on their decision on Whitehaven Coal.

We want as many NAB staff as possible to know what NAB is doing and how the bank’s actions are irresponsible and harm us all.
