Climate Justice and Christian NvDA
With millions of lives already experiencing harsher living conditions around the world as a result of human-induced changing change, what should Christians be doing in order to 'Care for Creation'?
In the first session Dr Mick Pope will lead us in a discussion around climate justice. Mick is a meteorologist and a Professor of Environmental Mission at Missional University. He has recently written A Climate of Justice: Loving your Neighbour in a Warming World (Morning Star Publishing/Wipf and Stock, 2017).
This will be followed by a session on Christian Nonviolent Direct Action featuring local Christians sharing their experience around public climate actions, followed by a Q&A. Erin Kennedy is an artist, teacher, Catholic, and Mother involved in blockading the Adani rail line with ARRCC.
This event is jointly organised by Queensland ARRCC, Community of The Way,Doing Justice and St Francis College.
Hope to see you there.
