Contemplative Rebels meditation
We welcome you to come to our first public event! Contemplative Rebels NSW invite you to join us in silence and stillness for an hour-long period of contemplative sitting at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park at 10am on Saturday 5 December. We will be showing our rebellion against those who are damaging the earth we share, regardless of creed or colour or species, in ways that are in accord with our commitment to compassionate care for each other and our own personal beliefs.
Meet by trees up near the playground. You will see some flags. We will sit together and for an hour starting at 10.15 am. You are welcome to join us to meditate, pray, reflect or just be.
Bring along a cushion, stool or chair to sit on. Please bring along a spare cushion or chair if you are able to, to offer to others. You are welcome to stand rather than sit, if you prefer. Feel free to join us for all or part of the action.
This is a Covid-safe event. Please wear a mask.
There will be two rounds of sitting meditation, separated by a short walking meditation. Feel free to bring an offering of some kind to sit with: a placard, an artwork, some flowers, a rock, or any other object you feel is appropriate.
All are welcome to join us, including passers-by. We hope that the public will see our action as a peaceful expression of compassion and care for the earth.
If you have any queries, please email us [email protected]
On this occasion the Contemplative Rebels will be on their own, but similar events are planned for Dec 13 and Dec 19 with Extinction Rebellion holding other actions nearby.
