Meditation Vigil 1 Aug 2019
ARRCC is communicating directly with GHD!
Thursday 1st August 8-9.30 am, 133 Castlereagh St Sydney. PLEASE COME ALONG.
GHD prides itself on being one of Australia’s leading design and construction companies creating projects of lasting community benefit. Sustainability is a word used a lot in their website. They make much of their aim to contribute to optimal social, environmental and economic outcomes for all.
Yet GHD has taken the decision to help Adani to build the world’s biggest new coal mine in the Galilee Basin. New coal is the opposite of what is needed in a climate emergency. This partnership will benefit only Adani and GHD. GHD is selling their soul.
ARRCC has decided to seek a meeting with GHD to explain the views of people of many faiths who belong to ARRCC and attempt to convince them to withdraw from the arrangement with Adani.
In addition ARRCC will hold a respectful meditation and prayer vigil outside of GHD’s Sydney office onThursday 1st August between 8 and 9.30 in order to clearly make public the strongly held views of many people of faith. GHD’s Sydney address is 133 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.
We will be meditating or praying silently. We may sing and chant. We may have readings and prayers. Please bring something along if you would like to share it.
It will be cold so bring warm clothes and a cushion or chair and a 'keep cup' for a hot drink.
A banner or sign would be very welcome!
