Multi-Faith Prayer Vigil outside PM Albanese's office

During COP28, the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC) will participate in a 'Turn Up the Heat' Week of Action asking the Australian Government to take stronger action for a safe climate, especially by stopping approvals of new coal and gas projects. Australia already throws fuel on the climate fire by being the world’s third largest exporter of fossil fuels, and new coal and gas are destined for export. A halt to approvals is something that the peoples of the Pacific have been calling for, as well as calling for a fossil free Pacific.

We will show our solidarity publicly through a Prayer Vigil outside PM Anthony Albanese’s electoral office in Marrickville. All are welcome to join us on

meet at 8.45 am on Friday, 8th December, at St Brigid’s Catholic Church, 392 Marrickville Rd

9 am: a short march to Mr Albanese’s office

As part of the service, the Passionist Provincial Fr Kevin Dance will give a brief address on why Pope Francis is taking COP28 so seriously. We plan to present a Christmas card to Mr Albanese’s staff with our requests. Contact: [email protected]
