Rising Tide - The Canberra Wave
Share this event with your friends!
On Tuesday 26th November, day #8 of the Rising Tide mobilisation, people will ride the wave of energy and media attention and head to Canberra for the final three sitting days of Parliament for 2024. There people will stage a mass three-day occupation of the Parliament House lawns, demanding that Albanese answers: “When will you stop approving new coal & gas projects?”
The aim of this historic ten-day mobilisation is to help build the people-power necessary to topple the fossil fuel regime that corrupts our democracy and has us hurtling towards catastrophic climate collapse.
Plans for faith presence
A local Canberra faith group is currently considering what activities they can support. These include finding a speaker who is a person of faith for the main rally on 27 November, and maintaining a tent as a quiet, meditation/contemplative space.
ARRCC will have some form of visible presence in support of the Rising Tide movement.
