Say 'NO' to Woodside - Perth

We have an opportunity to show our deep concern to Woodside and the public, by
gathering outside the Woodside office to say No! to the North West Shelf and
Browse gas export projects next Wednesday 23rd July. Let's make our presence
felt there in comradery, between 12.30 and 1.30pm with simple, to-the-point
placards, signs and banners.

Let's 'give voice' to the Earth.

Let's show that West Australians say NO to extending the North West Shelf
and the Browse export projects! There are other ways to power the future.
Please join me and our band of concerned folk outside Woodside HQ,
11 Mount St, Perth.

Queries? And to let us know you're coming, please contact Helene Fisher: 0429 110 595.

Background

Woodside’s North West Shelf Gas extension is supported by the WA Government
but is still awaiting a final federal decision. Environment Minister Murray Watt has
granted provisional approval for the project, and we are waiting Woodside’s
responses to the conditions.

If the project goes ahead, it will pump around four billion tonnes of pollution into the
Earth’s atmosphere and increase the risk of degrading the World Heritage Listed
Murujuga rock art over coming decades. It’s the perfect recipe for creating more
climate related severe weather events across Australia and worldwide.

Approval of the North West Shelf export facility until 2070 will also pave the wave
for Woodside’s plans to develop the Browse Gas field, which sits underneath Scott
Reef. This project will damage endangered whale feeding areas and migration
routes, threaten other endangered marine life at Scott Reef and put the coast
between the Kimberley and the Pilbara at risk of catastrophic oil spills.
