Stewardship of the Earth Conference
Share this event with your friends!
We (human-kind) coexist with other-kinds (animals, plants, birds, fish, etc.). Together, we benefit from the generosities of Earth. And together, we contribute to the pains and ailments of Earth. Being beneficiaries and troublers require that we become stewards (carers, servers) of Earth.
You are warmly invited to the Stewardship of (the) Earth conference on Saturday 14 June at the Centre for Ministry, North Parramatta for learning from activists and practitioners, theologians and scholars, on how we could become responsible stewards of the Earth and work toward climate justice.
This conference will include presentations by people from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and passions on topics of interest (e.g., cost of living, first peoples, young and restlessness, energy and resources, etc.) in relation to the theme "Stewardship of (the) Earth." The program will include open mic for students to read poems on "The Sounds of Climate Justice."
We will be joined by several speakers including keynotes Aunty Janet Turpie-Johnstone, artist, academic, and significant contributor to several Indigenous community organisations, and Alice Salomon, Head of Advocacy and Media at Uniting.
We warmly invite Ministers, congregation members, United Theological College students, Synod Staff and anyone interested in climate justice.
