Forums on 25 & 26 May at Parliament House will include:
- An up-to-date overview of the impacts of climate change in the region
- How Pacific Island governments, communities and civil society organisations are responding to the challenges and Australia’s response
- 26 May Forum (by invitation)—for Pacific Islands community leaders
The forums will be resourced by:
- Overseas presenters from affected communities in Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu
- Pacific climate change specialist, Prof Patrick Nunn, USC
Youth Event on 26 May at Reddacliff Place in Brisbane City Square
- Pacific Island cultural performances, play, stalls and dance and music
- PI Youth showcasing Pacific Islands culture
Ecumenical Church Service on 27 May at
St. John’s Anglican Cathedral in Brisbane City
- Service officiated by Pacific Islands clergy working with affected communities
