Prayer Vigil for Phase-out Conference
People of all faiths are invited to the Interfaith Prayer Vigil, Together for Our Common Home.
This event combines us as one community, in prayer for the care of our common home. We pray for Australian communities experiencing either extreme heat, rising sea levels or increased weather events, especially in the Kimberley, Torres Strait Islands and Palm Island and also extending our care and prayers for those facing the impacts of climate change in neighbouring Pacific nations. The timing of this vigil is in the week before the First Conference on the Transition Away from Fossil Fuels, and so we pray for courage, compassion and wisdom for the leaders from the many countries who will be working together to address the climate crisis.
All are welcome to come together on the 21st with the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission as we pray in hope, love and peace.
