ARRCC supporters are invited on Thursday morning 30 Oct to support the Knitting Nannas and Market Forces outside the Whitehaven Coal company's AGM at the Sydney Mint. There are two gates to cover, one at the front and a driveway at the back.

The protest will start at around 9.15 am to catch shareholders on their way in to meeting.

Whitehaven is a pureplay greenfield coal company which has been guilty of many environmental breaches and illegal acts, generally receiving fines that are insignificant compared to their profit margins. Importantly, they had pledged to protect Gomeroi sacred sites on the Maules Creek mine site but in fact destroyed them all, one by one.

ARRCC has actively opposed Whitehaven Coal because of the above, because of the climate impacts of the coal they export and and because of their plans to expand coal mining instead of diversifying their business model.
