Following the wonderful success of last Tuesday’s nationwide events, and as we prepare for COP31, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Antalya, Türkiye, we invite you to join our next Interfaith Prayers and Meditations gathering on Friday, 16 October 2026.
We are delighted to welcome Rev. Charissa Suli, President of the Uniting Church in Australia, as our special guest. Rev. Charissa has been a strong advocate for a Fossil Fuel Treaty and for greater support for our Pacific neighbours, whose communities are on the frontlines of the climate crisis.
Rev. Charissa will offer a reflection before gently guiding participants into a time of silence, prayer and meditation. Together, across faiths and communities, we will hold the world, our Pacific neighbours and the future of our planet in our hearts as we look towards COP31.
OUR SIMPLE FORMAT FOR ALL GATHERINGS WILL BE:
- 11.00 am Brisbane AEST — Opening & Welcome
- A 5-minute reflection from one of our Interfaith Spiritual Leaders.
- 20 minutes of silent prayer & meditation – A shared time of stillness, prayer and meditation.
- Participants may briefly share their experience if they wish before closing at 11.30 am Brisbane AEST
