For people in Adelaide and the Northern Territory it will start at 6:30 pm. For Western Australians it will start at 5 pm. It will be online. We'd love you to attend if you can!
The Zoom Link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89647840239 To join by phone call: 03 7018 2005
Keynote speaker
This year we will have a most interesting keynote speaker: Fletcher Harper who is the Executive Director of Greenfaith, based in New Jersey, and a key figure in the Fossil Fuel Treaty campaign. His topic: 'The Fossil Fuel Treaty and the Santa Marta Conference - are we closer to a fossil fuel phase-out? What are the strategic goals for our global Faiths For a Fossil Free Future campaign in the lead-up to COP31 and beyond?' There will be time for questions.
Agenda
This is the link to the Agenda for the meeting.
It includes several matters that will be voted on, including last year’s AGM Minutes, the Financial Reports, and some changes proposed to the ARRCC Constitution. The associated documents are accessible via the ARRCC Google Drive. A link to the Annual Report is provided purely for your information.
If you are a member and interested in voting, please read the proposed changes to the ARRCC Constitution and be ready to vote on them. In summary, they are intended (1) to simplify the process of becoming and staying a member, and (2) to add the role of vice-president to the management structure. To explain briefly, after finding out that we are not legally required to charge membership fees, we would like to remove that requirement. This also means that members do not have to renew annually. The role of vice-president allows leadership of ARRCC to be shared around more.
Nominations for the Committee
The ARRCC team would welcome new members to help lead our important work. We're especially interested in potential Committee members who belong to one of the smaller faith traditions in Australia. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for joining the Committee, please download and complete this nomination form and send it to the Secretary likewise via [email protected] by Thursday 14th May. The person nominated needs to have accepted the nomination but the two endorsements required can be invited after the nomination is received. Note that there is a period of mutual discernment in the early months of any new person joining the Committee.
For the purposes of keeping records, it would be very much appreciated if you would let us know if you're attending the AGM. Apologies will be noted. Please send RSVPs to Ahimsadhi who will be taking Minutes at the AGM. Again, her email address is [email protected]
ever onwards!
